Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, welcomed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar in Dominica, Awad Abdullah, on Friday, July 14, 2023.
Prime Minister expressed his gratitude by receiving Ambassador Awad Abdullah at the Prime Minister’s Office in Roseau.
Prime Minister Skerrit commenced the meeting by extending a warm welcome to Ambassador Awad Abdullah on his visit to the Commonwealth of Dominica.
The motive of the meeting was to strengthen and enhance the mutual bilateral relationship between the Caribbean country and the State of Qatar.
Prime Minister Skerrit shared glimpses of the meeting on his official social media account in which he stated, “Earlier today, I received a courtesy call from His Excellency Awad Abdullah, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar.”

Furthermore, he noted, “I welcomed His Excellency to Dominica, and we discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between our two countries.”
Both leaders also discussed some important topics and concerns of mutual interest. As per the reports, the meeting saw detailed discussions on vital public sectors and their enhancements, such as education, businesses, tourism, healthcare, health, etc.
Embajada De Qater shared a picture by writing, “Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy in Commonwealth of Dominica receives a copy of Credentials of Qatar’s Ambassador Dr Vince Henderson, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy of Commonwealth Dominica, received a copy of the credentials of Mr Yaser Awad Al-Abdullah as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (non-resident) of the State of Qatar to Commonwealth Dominica.”
Moreover, Prime Minister of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit greeted and hosted the Qatari Ambassador Awad Abdullah with integrity, dignity, and respect, extending his best wishes.
Moreover, Dominica is working hard in order to boost their foreign relations. Last week, Peter Bult, United Nations Children’s Fund Representative, also paid a courtesy call, and on that same week, Dominica launched the China-Dominica Cardiovascular Imaging Center and Telemedicine Center.
