South Africa: The Reaction Unit South Africa has successfully recovered a silver VW Polo vehicle. The vehicle was stolen from the Newlands. The vehicle was recovered from Verulam. The officials have shared the images of the vehicle.
The officials have shared that they received the information of the incident through a phone call on Sunday. The call came at approximately 19:42 wherein the owner of a towing company asked the RUSA to locate a missing vehicle.
The vehicle in question was travelling through Tongaat and heading towards Verulam – KZN. The reaction officers started investigating the matter quickly and started looking for the vehicle.
Reaction Officers mobilised for the investigation spotted the vehicle at the Canelands/R102 robots. After it stopped at the R102 and Jabu Ngcobo Road intersection, officers surrounded it on all sides.
A registration check confirmed that the vehicle was sought after on a Theft of Motor Vehicle case. The incident was allegedly reported at the Newlands SAPS in February 2024. The driver and the vehicle were handed over to the Police for further investigation.
Vehicle thefts have been making headlines in the province for several months. The country’s people have expressed their disappointment over the situation.
However, social media users have applauded the organization’s role in ensuring peace and lawfulness and celebrated the victory of the Reaction Unit officers for their dedication.

The officials have shared that the people of the country are also applauding the Towing Company owner for alerting the law enforcement authorities in time. The further investigation into the matter will be completed soon.
The vehicle is expected to be returned to the original owner after the investigation. The people of the country have shared that the situation is unfortunate as the robbers cause the victim’s families tremendous stress.
