Saint Lucia: Ernest Hilaire, the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, expressed his good wishes to the diligent men and women of Saint Lucia on Labour Day. He acknowledged the Caribbean people’s hard work and dedication on this esteemed occasion.
Minister Ernest wished Labour Day through his Facebook page; he also added, “Workers’ hard work and efforts are not going to waste and unnoticed because you are the reason for the national success. Workers‘ dedication and hard work helped the nation to be a climate resilient island that has stood the test of time and has pushed through some of our darkest times to emerge successful.”
He wrote: I wish all workers a rest filled day as we celebrate your contribution and dedication to nation building.
Residents celebrate this auspicious occasion. The Saint Lucia Trade Union Federations collabs with the Labour Department of Saint Lucia, and they also hosted the May Rally 2023. This year’s rally was organized at a specific time, “Embracing fundamental principles and Rights at Wosk for Greater Productivity.”
The Labour Department of Saint Lucia also launched activities on Monday in order to sensitize the public about the importance of labour laws. These activities were also part of Labour Day celebrations.
