Saint Lucia: The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Phillip J Pierre, congratulated athlete Julien Alfred for breaking her old records and setting new records in the 60M Sprint and 200M race. She made these records in the 2023 Big 12 Indoor Championships.
As per the reports, Julien Alfred finished the 60M sprint in just 6.97 seconds, the Big 12 Indoor Championships organised in Lubbock, Texas. This new time breaks her previous record set earlier this month at 7.00 seconds.
Prime Minister Phillip J Pierre congratulated by saying, “Join me in congratulating Julien Alfred LCA on yet another historic feat today of breaking her own record by clocking 6.97 seconds in the 60M sprint.”
Furthermore, he told the audience about her other winning in, which she won the Big 12 Indoor Championships 200m in 22.26 seconds, the 4th fastest time in the world.
As reported by the official page of the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, “Julien’s impressive achievement makes her the 8th fastest sprinter in history while also breaking the NCAA collegiate record three times in a row.”
At last, PM stated, “We are proud of your achievements, and you have our support. Congratulations once again, Julien.”
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia also congratulated Julien Alfred on his social media page; he stated, “Congratulations to our very own Julien Alfred, who completed the 60M Sprint at the 2023 Big 12 Indoor Championships in 6.97 seconds. The championship is taking place in Lubbock, Texas. This new time breaks her previous record set earlier this month of 7.00 seconds.”
Her impressive achievement has now made her the 8th fastest sprinter in history while also breaking the NCAA collegiate record three times in a row, said Deputy Minister Ernest Hilaire.
