Zambia: The youngsters hailing from various Seventh Day Adventist Church congregations came together for a cleaning activity at the Monze Mission Hospital. The youngsters took the initiative as a part of the SDA Global Youth Day Celebration.
The officials of the Seventh day Adventist revealed that the SDA global Youth Day Celebration was hosted as part of the National Youth Week. This year, the theme of the celebration in Zambia is “Show up, in the City.”
Through the initiative, the administration wants to encourage youngsters to participate in activities important to the country. The officials who were overseeing the cleaning activity noted that the initiative also aligns with the theme.
The cleanup exercise will ensure that the hospital premises is clean and the patients can be safe from secondary infections. The cleanup campaign of the hospital is important for the increase in the quality healthcare in the country.
The SDA representatives were happy to participate in the initiative to help the mission hospital. The participants acknowledged that the hospital plays a crucial role in the district’s smooth and effective running.
The quality of healthcare in a district is one of the first indicators of the standard of living of a community, city or district. Through the cleanup initiative, the youth of the Seventh Day Adventist Church are involved in the community’s work.
He stated that youths do not just worship in church but also extend a helping hand outside to the needy. The officials further noted that they took the cleanup exercise to the hospital because it is an important part of the district infrastructure.
The hospital needs all the help that it can get from the members of the community. The officials shared the glimpses from the effort and expressed their satisfaction with the results. Mission Hospital Sunday Manager in Charge Lydus Muwele, thanked the youths for taking time to participate in the activity.
Muwele expressed confidence in more activities from the youths in helping the hospital.
