Zimbabwe: Footballer Sebastien Summerfield has made a donation to an academy based in Mbare, Inter Harare. The player has also donated kits to a sports academy in Dzivarasekwa in Harare.
Summerfield is a Switzerland based player aged 21 and plays for FC Kilchberg in Zurich as a midfielder. The player was coached by former Zimbabwe Warriors Player – Alan Johnson at Harare International School till 2020.
The players donated football boots and kits to the amateur players. He trained the children of the sports academy at Kingston Ground in Mbare.
Over 30 football kits were donated and inspired training sessions were given by paving the way for talented grassroots players in Zimbabwe. It was an initiative towards giving Zimbabwean children a fair chance of having successful careers in football both locally and abroad.

At the age of 17, Summerfield was scouted by a former Bafana Bafana player. He was also trained by Newcastle FC midfielder Matty Pattinson to join Gateshead F.C. located in Gateshead across the river from Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK.
Later on, Summerfield moved to Newcastle in 2019. When he was at Gateshead, Summerfield was discovered by Zimbabwe U-20 National team Coach – Tonderai Ndiraya.
The National Team Coach selected him to represent Zimbabwe at the 2020 COSAFA Tournament that was held in Nelson Mandela Bay.
While at COSAFA, Summerfield was handpicked by FC Kilchberg in Zurich, Switzerland and there he made his Swiss debut in October 2021.

Sebastien Summerfield has founded the SRS Foundation Zimbabwe. It is a grassroots football foundation which empowers footballers through education and professional opportunities in the football world.
Summerfield has hosted a series of Under-16 scouting tournaments in the low-income areas of Harare, Zimbabwe, where he helped scout talent from low-income areas.
