Botswana: Shiv Charitable Society organized a donation drive and eye screening camps for the people in Mmanoko. The initiative was started for the members of the community who can not afford treatment.
The donation drive helped many families get access to some crucial treatment options that were previously beyond their budget. The people of the benefitting community even claimed that the eyecare camp and donation changed their lives.
The Shiv Charitable society helped in arranging eye camp screenings for over 200 individuals. They further donated 150 food hampers, eight wheelchairs, 2000 sanitary pads, and citrus fruits trees to thee community.
The Kweneng District Council has shared some images from the campaign and expressed their sincere gratitude to the donors for their gesture
The event was attended by several distinguished public figures of the district. The attendants included, Minister for State President and also Member of Parliament for Molepolole South Constituency, Kabo N.S. Morwaeng,
Barath Kumar Kuthathi, High Commissioner of India; Sanjay Joshi, Managing Director of Bank of Baroda were also present. Further, Shiv charitable society representatives Yogesh Mahindroo and Umesh Sharma, who spearheaded the event were part of the event.
The Office of the District Commissioner was represented by the Assistant District Commissioner Kabelo Nadin Moletsane. Boiki Sibisibi was present at the event on behalf of the Council Chairman of Kweneng District.
He was accompanying the Deputy Council Secretary Operations Letang Mbaakanyi. Kabo N.S. Morwaeng expressed gratitude on behalf of the Mmanoko community.
He also acknowledged that the donations would greatly benefit the locals of the community. He praised Shiv Charitable Society for their utmost generosity for thee people living in vulnerable communities,
He noted that such donations will be of great value to those that needed eye care but could not afford.
This event marks the fifth eye care camp organized by Shiv Charitable Society across Botswana. The community members were overjoyed and could not contain their excitement as they received the gifts with hearts of gratitude.
