Africa: The Africa Weather Forecast has predicted extreme weather conditions for South Africa from the coming week from January 29th to February 04th.

It is forecasted that there will be an upper-air high-pressure cell smack in the middle of the country, rolling back the spread of thunderstorms while making the environment suitable for severe thunderstorms by allowing only a few storms to monopolize the resources.

MONDAY AND TUESDAY: High chance of scattered afternoon thunderstorms over the eastern Highveld, western Lowveld and the Bushveld today, but they will shrink to the central on Tuesday interior, forming isolated showers and thundershowers while the east remains partly cloudy with a high chance of fog patches along the eastern Lowveld and eastern KwaZulu-Natal.

And a medium chance of isolated thunderstorms over the central Northern Cape on Tuesday. High chance of strong NW winds gusting between 40-60km/h today.

WEDNESDAY: Most of the country will be fine and warm at first but hot over the Cape and central interior, otherwise partly cloudy in the east (Lowveld and northeastern KwaZulu-Natal) with a combination of very light rainfall, drizzle and haze most of the day. Elsewhere, high chance of light rainfall from scattered thunderstorms over the central interior.

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: Partly cloudy in the east while light rainfall dissipates into fog patches and haze on both mornings, making driving a hurdle and a half, while somewhat clear skies over the Cape interior allow temperatures to soar to the lower 40s over the Cape interior while remaining in the low to mid-30s elsewhere.

There is a high chance of light rainfall in the west but moderate over the Cape interior on Friday. There is also a low chance of high-impact thunderstorms over central and northern Northern Cape on Friday.

THE WEEKEND (SATURDAY AND SUNDAY): Cloudy and cool-to-warm in the west with a high chance of scattered showers and thundershowers over most of the country, reaching the east on Sunday where there is a medium chance of moderate-to-intense rainfall with a vet low chance of flooding.
