South Africa: Yesterday, the Department of Social Development held a memorial service at Tshireletsong CYCC for Ms Pamela Nthombi Harmans, who served at Tshepong VEP Center as a Social Worker. Pamela served the Department from November 2019 as an Intern and later became a permanent employee in April 2020.

South Africa: Yesterday, the Department of Social Development held a memorial service at Tshireletsong CYCC for Ms Pamela Nthombi Harmans, who served at Tshepong VEP Center as a Social Worker. Pamela served the Department from November 2019 as an Intern and later became a permanent employee in April 2020.

Colleagues and friends celebrated her in song and dance, and according to Social Worker Manager, MME Carol Stewart, “the qualities that stood out from Ms Pamela Harmans was that she was a hard working official and was always passionate about her job. She was a person who was able to speak her mind for the betterment of Tshepong VEP Center”.

Furthermore, “Ms Nthombi always executed her work with diligence and always put her clients first and always made sure that everyone that comes across her path receives the necessary services” Stewart added.


 

 


Stakeholders such as SAPS and the Department of Justice were there to offer words of encouragement as they also worked closely with her.

Ms Dibakiso Mahlaba, a representative from NEHAWU, encouraged colleagues from Tshepong VEP Center, Thuthuzela, One Stop and many other centres to find courage in the Lord in this difficult time. “We have lost a sister, friend and valued colleague.”

Pastor Mathe, the family representative, thanked the Department of Social Development in the Free State and members of the SAPS she worked with. She also announced that there would be prayer sessions during the week leading up to the funeral on Saturday, 15 October 2022.
