St Kitts and Nevis: Starting on Monday, travelers from all over the world will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to visit St Kitts and Nevis. The people who want to travel to the island nation can apply for the Electronic Travel Authorization in advance and get electronic approval.
The officials have shared that the travelers can apply for the eTA 90 Days before the planned trip. Electronic Travel Authorization will make travel easy and seamless for the people.
Further, the people of the country will also be safe with all the members of the community. The officials have shared that the members of the community will be able to travel safely.
The border security of the country will also be improved with the launch of the travel authorization document. The authorities will be able to make sure that they vet all the travelers that want to take a trip to the will island.
They will help in making sure any persons with questionable backgrounds are not allowed to visit the island. The modern facilities will be able to make the island nation more open and welcoming for tourists.
The island administration have been working to introduce the Electronic Travel Authorization. The initiative, which has been in the pipeline for months, is the first in the Caribbean region .
The electronic travel authorization will fully digitize the travel process quicker and easier. The travellers can apply for the eTA using the mobile application, St Kitts and Nevis e-Border.
The authorities have shared that this is the most convenient way to apply for the electronic travel authorization. The authorities have also confirmed that the the travelers can complete their application for the travel authorization using the official website.
The travellers are can get the eTA by filling the online application for the planned trip to St kitts and Nevis. The travellers must give basic travel details and documentation tp go with their application.
After these prerequisites are filled, the travelers will get authorization for entering the island nation electronically, Currently, the authorities are offering a discount on the service charge for the application.
The travellers can fill out the eTA application by paying US$8.50 as service charge, applicable till September 1. Starting on September 1, the discount will be removed and the travellers have to pay US$17 as service charge.
The citizens and residents of St Kitts and Nevis or the OECS do not have to apply for the eTA when they are travelling to the island nation. St Kitts and Nevis Nationals need to fill out Online Immigration and Customs ED Form which will be provided free of charge.
The other individuals or groups exempted from applying for eTA are:
- Diplomats travelling to the federation on official duty.
- Children who are under the age of 2 years
- Passengers who are in the federation for a layover
- On-duty Flight or Vessel Crew Members
- Active military or search-and-rescue personnel
