St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minster Dr. Terrance Drew made his presence on radio interview by Freedom FM 106.5 on August 28, 2025. They have discussed several issues of national importance. He majorly mentioned strengthening the Caribbean-Africa relations.
PM Drew highlighted ancestral ties of Caribbean with Africa which is an advantage for both the nations. He also stated about the people of St. Kitts and Nevis on progress that has already been made so far.
Recently, St. Kitts and Nevis has collaborated with the University of Cape Coast in Ghana to create a Caribbean Center. He recalled that initiative and said that it will bridge the gap between the Caribbean and Africa.
Prime Minister Drew emphasised the presence of an ambassador from the African Union in the CARICOM. He explained the reason and said that the other countries across the globe are looking into several ways to work with Africa, whereas, they have this privilege to partner with them and grab the opportunities easily. He said that they are using the potential of the continent for country’s improvement.
Furthermore, it is important for Caribbean and African Continents to come together for their development.
Prime Minister Drew also met with the President of Nigeria during his visit to Saint Lucia. President Tinubu visited Saint Lucia in July 2025 to meet the Caribbean leaders and discuss key issues, hindering the improvement of the nations. He expressed that they are proud to be part of this collaborative relationship between St. Kitts and Nevis and Nigeria.
During this trip to Saint Lucia, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of Nigeria discussed the possibilities of receiving visa access for citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis to visit Nigeria without any restrictions.
PM Drew also highlighted that the Foreign Affairs Minister is going to visit Nigeria next month, which will mark a positive step in strengthening bilateral relations between St. Kitts and Nevis and Nigeria.
