Mauritius: A one-day Consultative Inception Workshop on Implementing Sustainable Low and Non-Chemical Development in Small Island Developing States (ISLANDS) Project was launched today in the presence of the Minister of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, Kavydass Ramano, at the Caudan Arts Centre in Port Louis.

Mauritius: A workshop to finalise the work plan and roadmap for the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) African Small Island Developing States (SIDS) programme to bring forth more sustainable agrifood systems opened this morning at the Caudan Arts Centre in Port-Louis.

Mauritius: A new water resources bill, taking into consideration the water requirement of the country and the development of the water sector within a well-defined legal framework for the mobilisation, management, development and conservation of water resources in Mauritius, will soon be introduced in the parliament, stated the Minister of Energy and Public Utilities, Georges Pierre Lesjongard.

Mauritius: A Refuge Centre was inaugurated this afternoon, at Quatre Soeurs, by the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, with the objective to protect and safely evacuate local communities living along the south-eastern coastal stretch of Mauritius who are at risk in events of inundation from high tides, storm surges and tidal waves.
