Botswana: The Ministry of Education and Skill Development in the government of Botswana recently hosted the TEVET Excellence Awards. The Ministry has announced that the awards ceremony was a great success, with several important stakeholders in attendance.
The event was hosted under the theme of “Recognizing Excellence in the Era of mindset change”. The Ministry shared some glimpses from the event which was hosted on Sunday. The event aimed to highlight and appreciate the public sector employees engaged in the sector.
The awardees included employees who demonstrated commitment, perseverance, accountability and innovation in their work. During the awards event, Assistant Minister of Education, Aubrey Lesaso delivered the keynote address.

Assistant Minister Lesaso extended his best wishes to the officials who have received the awards for their dedication and services. He claimed that he was proud of the awardees for being recognized for their hard work and dedication.

- Best performer in each stated field:
- Overall best performer
- Best performer Intern/ Tirelo Sechaba/GVS
- Best teams

- Employee of the year
- Directors awards
Aubrey Lesaso applauded the deserving TVET employees for providing a quality service culture for their customers. He asserted that this is essential in sustaining and driving the public service.
The assistant minister further reminded the awardees that the TEVET Excellence Awards are an encouragement to work hard. He encouraged the public sector employees to transform the TVET sub-sector to make it relevant and a programme of choice among young people.
Further, The awards ceremony was hosted on the sidelines of the 1st Joint Graduation of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Providers. The event was attended by hundreds of public sector employees working in the TEVET Sector.
