South Africa: Three individuals have reported injuries after a road traffic accident which happened on Noodsberg Road in Wewe – KZN. The accident happened in the afternoon hours of the day on Sunday.
The vehicles that were involved in the accident have been identified by the reaction unit. The vehicles were damaged extensively one of them was found in a ditch near the road.
Both the vehicles, a white Toyota Etios and a white Toyota Hilux were travelling in the same direction. When the accident happened, the car collided with the back of the bekkie vehicle.
At this point, the bekkie vehicle lost control and crashed into the ditch. The occupants of both the vehicles have sustained some injuries. The injured persons were taken to the hospital for medical assistance.
The current medical condition of any of the victims is currently unclear. They are receiving treatment at a nearby medical facility. The Reaction Unit was called to the scene by members of the public who witnessed the accident.
The Reaction officers claimed that the call for assistance was received at approximately 13:51 Hours at Tongaat Operations Centre. The team of officers was dispatched to the scene at Noodsberg Road to help the victims.
The officers talked to some of the road users who were present at the scene at the time of the accident. The members of the public have shared that they suspect that one of the drivers could be under influence of drug and alcohol.
The people have also alleged that the car accidents are becoming a serious nuisance foe the people of the country. The commentors have alleged that taxi drivers do not take road safety seriously, leading to over speeding reckless driving.
As a result, the numbers of road accidents have been witnessing a spike in the province. The people have asserted that the law enforcement authorities need to do more to protect the people of community,
Further, some social media users also suggested that there should be drug and alcohol screenings to discourage people from driving under the influence.
