Malawi: Mbandanga, Nchima, and Namileme primary schools recieved the donations of students from Tonse Pamodzi. The organization has donated 51 school uniforms to students in Thyolo district.
The handover ceremony for the donated items was done at the Nchima Primary School on Friday. The organisation’s chairperson, Flora Captain has said that the initiative was meant to support needy children.
There are many students whose parents or guardians could not afford to buy them school uniforms. The donation will take financial strain
“As a youth-led organisation, we focus on five key areas: health, education, sports, arts, and climate change. Today, we are focusing on education by assisting needy learners who lack school uniforms,” she said.
The youngsters of the community can play a highly crucial role in helping the people in need. He also claimed that Tonse Pamodzi Youth Organisation has been finding their charitable activities through various different types of activities. She also appealed to well-wishers to support their initiatives.
The Chief Education Officer for Thyolo District Rabbeca Misiri has thanked the youth organization for the donation. She said that the gesture was much needed for the community as the district has over 20,000 needy children.
The chief education officer has encouraged the beneficiaries to do their best work in school as a way of appreciating the support from the youth group.
The education officer has also asked the people of the country to make sure that the community can follow the lead of Tonse Pamodzi Youth Organisations. She urged the people to help the students and provide them with essential school materials.
One of the beneficiaries, 14-year-old Suzen Feston from Mbandanga Primary School, hailed the youth led organisation, saying the uniform will motivate her to remain in school and feel equal to her peers.
She has promised that they will be working hard in school and encourage the students to do the same to realise their various ambitions.
Tonse Pamodzi Youth Organization was established on March 30, 2024. Their aim is to implement projects that improve livelihoods of the less privileged in Thyolo.
