Intapuka, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa: A Traditional Healer was gunned down while walking on an unpaved road near his residence in Intapuka – KZN, yesterday afternoon (Thursday).
Residents in the area contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance at approximately 18:24. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and, on arrival, discovered a large crowd gathered at the scene.
The body of the deceased was located in dense vegetation next to the road. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head. Eleven (11) spent 9mm cartridges were recovered on the road.
According to a witness, two occupants of a white VW Polo stopped and opened fire on the deceased. The critically injured male fled into a bush in an attempt to conceal himself. His attackers thereafter sped off in an unknown direction. The deceased resided approximately 200 metres from the scene of the shooting.
The motive for the murder has not been established.
Residents of the area seemed sad and heart broken at the same time. People are saying that Life in KwaZulu Natal doesn’t hold value.
Pablo Letsholo, one of the residents, said, “Life means nothing at KZN. People are killing each other every day. It is so sad.”
