Afro-star Tyla has conquered another milestone by winning the title of ‘World Artist Of The Year’ at the iHeart Music Awards 2025. By winning this award she defeated Burna Boy, Tems, YG Marley and Central Cee and has become the first recipient in this award category.
Its another win in the bag, as Tyla keeps on rocking the world with her songs. Africa is beyond proud of you, shining bright and reppin’ South Africa like a true star.
The 2025 edition of iHeart Music Awards ceremony was held on Monday, March 17 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The award show celebrates excellent artistry and entertains fans with thrilling performances.
The Award recognised the best musicians in the music industry. The winners included Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, GloRilla, Teddy Swims and Muni Long, among others.
Recently, the African popstar ‘Tyla’ was featured on cover page of the British Vogue for its march 2025 edition. Earlier, she dominated MTV EMAs and grabbed the title of Best Afrobeats. Tyla also walked the ramp of latest Victoria’s Secrets Fashion Show in Wings and amazed all with her performance.
iHeartRadio Music Awards is a music awards show that celebrates music heard throughout the year across iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide and on iHeartRadio, iHeartMedia’s digital music platform.
The award show was founded by iHeartRadio in year 2014, that recognises the most popular artistes and music over the past year. The Winners at the award function are chosen as per cumulative performance data and the public can vote in several categories.
Moreover, despite of this, the award show also considered other categories that is Artist of the Year which was honoured to Taylor Swift, Song of the Year was given to Benson Boone for ‘Beautiful Things’, Best Collaboration was given to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars for ‘Die with a Smile’. Producer of the Year was delivered to Julian Bunetta, Songwriter of the Year was Amy Allen, Sabrina Carpenter was awarded with Pop Song of the Year for her viral song Espresso, and Teddy Swims was chosen as the best New Artist (Pop).
Considering this great win, South Africa Government has also congratulated Tyla and extended their good wishes to her for this achievement.
