Umhlanga – KZN: 43 year old stabbed during robbery attempt

Umhlanga – KZN: A Forty-three-year-old fisherman reached out to the Reaction Unit South Africa with reports of a robbery which took place at at the Umhlanga Lighthouse in Umhlanga – KZN . The victim was, at the time fishing at the lighthouse. The suspects also stabbed the victim during the robbery attempt.

The unfortunate incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, November 19, 2023. He revealed that he was approached by two men who asked for the time. The suspects were trying to distract the 43 year old with a conversation while trying to take his bag.

The their grip. The other suspect took out the knife and stabbed the victim in his left shoulder. The pair took the bag from him and tried to flee the scene. The victim suffered a gash wound on his shoulder as a result of the stabbing.

However, the victim followed the suspects on foot, and they dropped the stolen bag during the chase. The victim called the Reaction Unit for help. The Reaction Unit shared that they received the call at around 3:02 AM on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

They sent a team at the the location where the stabbing and robbery attempt occurred. On reaching, the team talked to the fisherman and understood the complete incident from his statement.

The reaction unit shared that they started the investigation into the incident. They are conducting a search for the alleged robbers however, the team has not arrested any persons. Meanwhile, the people of KwaZulu Natal shared their disappointment on the increased incidents of insecurity in the country.

The people are worried about their own safety while travelling to some of these areas. Meanwhile, some social media users said that Karma will get back to the robbers. Social media user Selvie Moodley asked the people of the region to be safe. The comment read: Please guys try n be safe because this country we are not safe
