South Africa: One more crime case was reported by the Reaction Unit South Africa team in which a 38 year old female was sexually assaulted in the presence of her 2 year old son during a home invasion in Buffelsdraai – KZN earlier this morning (Thursday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received this information by a call for assistance at approximately 01:16. On arrival, it was established that three suspects forcefully gained entry into her room while she was asleep next to her child. She was confronted by one of the suspects, who held her at gunpoint while his accomplices searched the premises for valuables. He then sexually assaulted her when she fought back. The suspect fired a shot before they exited her room, as per the statement given by the eyewitness.
As per the reports, the robbers tried to loot other people also by continued kicking in doors leading to other rooms which were rented by other tenants. They stole cash, cellphones TV’s and other house hold items which were loaded into an awaiting white VW Polo (registration unknown).
However, there is no injury reported by the residents.
Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search for the suspects; however, no arrests were made, and investigations are still on.
