Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has launched murder investigation to search for the murderer of young cricketer Scott Blessing Kamwise.
The cricketer aged 24 was stabbed gruesomely to death on Tuesday at night in Waverly, Kadoma. Kamwise was attacked repeatedly with knife on his back and neck alongside Waterworks Road, near Blue Rangers in the gold mining town.
Killers of cricketer Kamwise are still unknown, yet the police have launched an appeal for information that could lead to the arrest of suspects.
ZRP inspector said on Wednesday, “Police in Kadoma is appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of murder in which Blessing Kamwise aged 24, was found dead with two deep wounds on the neck on May 29, 2024 along Waterworks Road, near Blue Rangers, Kadoma.”
Marking his comment over tragic death of Kamwise, his friend Admire Zhangu said that he found the lifeless body of Kamwise and witnessed the deep wounds on his neck and two stab wounds on his back.
Zhangu added to his statement and said, “It’s really sad. He was just a young fellow cricketer who liked to play sports, especially cricket and what is worrying is that he still had his phone and earphones with him, raising suspicion that this could be a targeted murder, maybe over a woman.”
Scott Blessing Kamwise, was a Kadoma Cricket Club Player who was seen by many locals as full of potential in the elite sport.
According to the Inspector Kohwera, “Body of Kamwise was found lying beside the road of blood around 6:00 a.m. by a local motorist, who then advised to other residents of nearby homesteads, that led to his identification by his father.”
Considerably, a police report was made at ZRP Kadoma Central and the body was conveyed to Kadoma General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem. Inspector Kohwera has appealed that anyone with the information related to the case should contact any nearest police station.
As per the sources, it found that Kadoma is a gold mining town in Mashonaland West, which is synonymous with vengeance and mine murders. Some times ago, a 28-year-old Ian Mharadze was liked at a local night club in the town after he had gone to avenge the beating of a friend on the previous day.
