South Africa: KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Human Settlements and Public Works Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba will tomorrow Friday 21st October 2022, simultaneously launch the Zululand District 2022 Multi-Planting Season and activate the October Transport Month Programme in Abaqulusi Local Municipality.
MEC Mahlaba will officiate at these two launches in his capacity as MEC Operation Sukuma Sakhe and District Development Model Champion for Zululand District Municipality and its respective family of five Local Municipalities.
Tomorrow’s Zululand District launch follows the successful Provincial Launch of the 2022 Multi-Planting Season in KwaMachi in uMuziwabantu Local Municipality in Ugu District by the Provincial Executive Council and this past Tuesday’s activation of the October Transport Month in Ulundi Local Municipality through the Public Transport Day Programme.
The Zululand District Launch will encapsulate various distinct transport-related and agricultural activities in and around Abaqulusi Local Municipality starting from 7 am in Vryheid.
Amongst these activities include the visit and planting activity at communal vegetable gardens run by a women-led agricultural cooperative mainly constituted by local widows at Mvuzini in Ward 17 of Abaqulusi Municipality.
The MEC entourage, including HOD District Champion Dr Sandile Tshabalala and OSS/DDM District Task Team members, would also do a Siyahlola Programme on a multi million rands Road Construction Project funded by the Provincial Transport Department in Mondlo Township.
