Botswana: The 10th Tertiary Education roadshow was hosted in Maun at the Botswana Open University grounds. The event started off with a large turnout of students coming together at the starting point.
The event was hosted in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Council of Botswana. The aim of the project is to bring the students of the country together. The students can openly express their views on the various educational facilities that are made available to them.
The roadshow is hosted every year with various tertiary education of the country coming together for the event. According to the organizers of the roadshow, the purpose of the event was to get prospective students to consult higher education providers, gain access to necessary resources.
The students were also given the opportunity to receive career counselling from institutions and experts before making decisions on their pathway. The tertiary education is a highly crucial phase of a student’s academic career.
The decisions which the students take at this point in their careers can be instrumental to defining the future and life of these youngsters. The team has shared that they are dedicated to giving the people the best educational opportunities.
Some prospective students believe that the outreach initiative was beneficial for the people of the country and brought services closer to them as many could not afford to travel longer distances to process applications.
The roadshow was a resounding success with the students from all over the country coming together to attend the event. The team has shared that they are delighted by the response they got at the event.
25 Tertiary institutions from across Botswana participated in the event. They contributed towards Corporate Social Responsibility by donating sanitary towels to North West Region Senior Schools of Maun and Shakawe respectively.
The donation worth P40,000.00 is expected to go a long way in assisting students, especially those in boarding facilities. The students were delighted with the support they received from the organization.
