3 African beauties selected in Head-to-Head challenge for 71st Miss World

25 participants were selected for the Head-to-Head challenge out of 6 contestants selected were from Africa and 3 were selected as finalists.

Africa is shining in the 71st Miss World as six beauties are participating in the beauty pageant contest. 25 participants were selected for the Head-to-Head challenge out of 6 contestants selected were from Africa and 3 were selected as finalists.

The Head-to-Head challenge final was held at the Summit Room in Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on Friday, Feb 23, 2024.

Out of 25 countries that represented themselves at the contest, 6 were from Africa, from the places, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Nigeria, Madagascar and Kenya. 3 beauties of Africa were selected as finalists of the Head-to-Head challenge.

Upon getting selected as finalists in the 71st Miss World representatives of Botswana, Nigeria and Bulawayo have expressed themselves by sharing a post related to it on their official social media accounts.

Lesego Chombo, the representative of Botswana said, “I feel honoured to have been selected as a Miss World Head-to-Head winner. She said that she was presented herself on the G20 topic ‘Sustainable Development Goals’ in the same room where world leaders held the G20 summit.

She also said that the work they do under the Genesis Project aligns with these goals. She expressed, “I’m excited to have shared that link with the world.”

Another selected participant from Africa is from Nigeria – Ada Eme. She is one of the three Africans who stood out at the Miss World head-to-head.

Eme’s eloquent and compelling speech was appreciated in the competition that placed her alongside representatives from Botswana, Zimbabwe, England and Lebanon in the elite group and automatically advanced her to the next round.

Bulawayo-born model Nokutenda Shekinah Marumbwa represented her country’s flag high at the Miss World competition. After, she managed to be named among the Top-5 World Head-to-Head Challenge on Friday.

The challenge has 25 finalists from the countries Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Nigeria, Madagascar, Kenya, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Belgium, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Spain, Wales, Australia, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

The 71st Miss World contest will be held on March 09, 2024, at the Jio World Convention Centre, where one out of the 120 Beauties will be crowned as Miss World 2024.

The theme for the 71st Miss World is ‘Beauty with a Purpose’. The 21-day event will empower young women as agents of change and the leaders of tomorrow.

  • On Feb 25, 2024 Miss World Sport Challenge will be held in New Delhi.
  • On Mar 02, 2024 World Top Designer Award will be rewarded and the Miss World Top Model will be selected in Mumbai.
  • On Mar 03, 2024 Miss World Talent Final will be held in Mumbai.
  • On Mar 09, 2024 Miss World Red Carpet Special will be held at the Jio World Convention in Mumbai.
  • On Mar 09, 2024 71st Miss World Final will be held at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
