South Africa: On Wednesday the 10th, the fourth Day of the week-long Extended Army Command Cadre Conference, was hectic but fruitful, with various speakers taking to the podium to shed light on various issues which are adversely impacting the Day to Day functioning of the South African Army.
Before the proceedings of the Day could be kicked off, The Acting Senior Staff Officer of SA Army Chaplain Services, (Dr) Chaplain Roos, prepared the members to be inspired and ready for the task ahead with his powerful sermons.
This was followed by the opening remarks by the number one citizen of the South African Army, Lieutenant General Mbatha, who continued to offer his guidance and insight to the Commanders that will enable them to engineer a revival in their respective Directorates, Formations, Brigades and Units when the week long Forum come to a screeching halt on Friday.
Since the beginning of the session, various speakers who delivered presentations have substantiated beyond doubt that they are Reservoirs of knowledge, as the information which they have shared can catapult the SA Army to an upward trajectory.
The Chief Audit Executive of the Internal Audit Division, Ms Fikile Mabalane, who was accompanied by Ms Sylvia Oosthuizen, Ms Michelle Skhosana and Ms Winnie Khaile, spoke at length about issues which are pertinent to Auditing, while the SA Army Budget Manager, Ms T.M.Sekgobela also went beyond that is demanded by her scope of work as she dispensed her invaluable guidance through a presentation titled: “SA ARMY CURRENT REALITY”.
The members who were in attendance also benefited greatly from presentations by Brigadier General E.M. Mathaba, whose presentation was premised on Photocopy machines. Lessons were also drawn from a presentation by Colonel T Motloung, the SSO Parliamentary matters, who unpacked issues pertinent to the management of parliamentary matters in the South African National Defence Force.
