Lusaka, Zambia: GREEN Buffaloes Volleyball Club is all set to start its journey in the Zone Six Volleyball Championship. The Championship was scheduled to take place from Thursday, December 7, 2023, to December 14, 2023, in Maseru Lesotho.
Team coach Lazarus Mazumbo is happy with the hard work of his players ahead of the Zone Six Volleyball Championship pencilled for Maseru Lesotho. He hoped for the best for his team and expressed his pride to the members at this level.
In a recent conversation with Coach Mazumbo yesterday, November 28, 2023, he shared about his team’s previous matches and highlighted their performances. He said, “Buffaloes, we were crowned champion in Lusaka last year.”
He highlighted that the team had successfully beat 2021 title holders Academics de Maputo of Mozambique 3-2 at OYDC Zambia Sports Development Center.
He shared that they have been in camp for three weeks and are ready for the challenge.
“We have been in camp for the past three weeks at OYDC Zambia Sports Development Centre. The players are looking good, and I think we have worked on everything we. So we are just waiting for the Championship now,” he said.
Coach Mazumbo acknowledged that they know everyone in the region is waiting to take them on. They are ready to face any team that comes their way.
Reportedly, Apart from Buffaloes, Solwezi Ackers and Falcons Volleyball Club are the other men’s sides that will make an outing to Maseru. The women category will be represented by Buffaloes.
Recently, the Green Buffaloe team emerged victorious at the National Volleyball League. The team played exceptionally well in the ladies and gentlemen’s categories and displayed a phenomenal feat by defending their titles with an unparalleled unbeaten season run.
The league concluded in a highly anticipated grand finale in the men’s category, where Green Buffaloes clashed with the formidable Wolves Lusaka Volleyball Club.
