South Africa: An employee of a Phoenix-based company in Kwazulu Natal was arrested for possessing an unlicensed 9mm Luger Pistol. As per reports, the owner of the company alerted the Reaction Unit after the staff member tried to threaten the members during the “end of year” party.
During the party, the employer seized the weapon from the suspect and called RUSA to assist. The Reaction Unit officials have not revealed the name and other details about the suspect or his employer for safety reasons.
The officials also found two live rounds of ammunition in the possession of the suspect. According to the employer, they were hosting an end-of-year function on Monday when the incident happened.
The members of the Reaction Unit arrived at the premises and talked to the employer, who had informed the organization of the altercation. After getting all the facts from the employer, the Law Enforcement team talked to the suspect.
After they had finished speaking to the suspect, RUSA established that he did not possess a license for the firearm. During further questioning, the suspect revealed that he found the weapon on his way to work in a bush.
According to the officials, the serial number on the weapon was still intact. The Reaction Unit has arrested the suspect and confiscated the weapon and ammunition. After the arrest, they handed the case over to the Phoenix SAPS.
The Phoenix Saps are conducting the investigation into the matter. As per the most recent updates, the suspect is still in custody of the Phoenix SAPS. Meanwhile, the people of the community have taken to the comment section to share their views about the incident.
One of the user called the suspect out on his lie of finding the weapon “in a bush”, saying: He expects us to believe that he found it in the BUSH. WHAT WAS HE LOOKING FOR?
Meanwhile, another user announced that it was “Stupidity at its best! Its festive season in jail for him.”
