Kenya: The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Ababu-Terrah Egh met the students of the International Youth Fellowship IYF programme. The students travelled to Kenya from South Korea for mind and sports education.
The award ceremony for the IYF Programme students was hosted on Thursday, with Cabinet Secretary Namwamba presiding over the event.
The Cabinet Secretary awarded the South Korean team with certificates after successfully completing an intensive session of study spanning mind education and a free six months academy which focused on football and mental development. The people of the country have congratulated the youngsters for completing the exercise.
The project was dubbed “We Ken” project, the mind education. According to the stakeholders of the project, it seeks to provide perspective and encouragement on the consequences of decision making as well as create a positive mindset to approaching issues.
The students who were part of the International Youth Fellowship were also involved in community engagement programs. The programmes include Free medical camps where they provide free medical services and attention to vulnerable persons in various communities across the country.
“This engagement provided an opportunity for Kenyans to interact with South Koreans, learn from each other & explore their different cultures. I’m impressed by IYF and reaffirm that the Government of Kenya and the people of Kenya cherish this partnership and are keen on continuing the close collaboration.”
Later, The Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports took the students on a tour of the #TalantaHela Hall of Fame. During the tour, the students interacted with iconic pieces of Kenya’s legendary persons.
The Kenyan legends were honoured for their incredible contributions to the nation.
Kenya’s Ministry of Youth Affairs has been working diligently to ensure that the youngsters of the country can benefit from the various initiatives and programmes of the administration.
