KwaZulu Natal (Brindahven): A 58-year-old retired Policeman from Brindahven was accosted by five (5) armed suspects at his residence on Stardust Close in Brindahven – KZN a short while ago on Tuesday.
As per the reports, the suspects stormed the property while the victim’s relative was delivering water. The robbers forced both men into the residence and ransacked the home in search of valuables. Cash, cell phones and a TV were stolen, as per the retired Police officer.
He also said while doing the robbery, the suspects locked the victims in the toilet before they sped off in a brown vehicle. However, the model of the vehicle and the registration number are still unknown.
After the robbery, the retired men called out the neighbours, who took both victims to the hospital for first aid and contacted the Reaction Unit Officers.
As per RUSA officers, they contacted them at night around 9 pm, and when RUSA reached there, no injuries were reported by them.
Reaction Officers are currently searching for the suspects, but no arrests have been made so far. However, many pages on social media claim that RUSA officers arrested the suspects. But this is not true; so far, no arrests have been made.
Moreover, neighbours and residents are in shock as it is hard to understand that Police officers are also not safe in the country. The crime rate is increasing day by day.
One of the residents named, Daniel Klein, seemed aggressive by saying there is not even one day when we won’t read about the robbery.
“There is not one day we won’t read of robbery in this country. Freedom has come, and with it, the rise of criminal activity. The law is more for them than against them, and they know it,” said Daniel Klein.
Furthermore, he continued by saying, “Government has failed them, so they decide to take what they want by force, creating a negative impact on the progress of the people of our country.”
