Mauritius: Mini soccer pitch inaugurated in Trois Boutiques

The Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development, Mahendranuth Sharma Hurreeram inaugurated a mini soccer pitch in Trois Boutiques.

Mauritius: The Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development, Mahendranuth Sharma Hurreeram inaugurated a mini soccer pitch in Trois Boutiques. The event was hosted on Thursday with many members of the government attending the inauguration.

The project has been constructed and is ready to function with an investment of Rs 6 million. The government of India also extended their support for the project of the development of Mauritius. The two nations are working together for the all-round development of Mauritius.

Minister Hurreeram delivered a brief address at the inauguration ceremony for the mini soccer pitch in Trois Boutiques. He highlighted that the initial stages of the project are extremely important.

Further, in his address, the Minister noted that the success of the project was possible due to the efforts of the Ministry of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change. The National Development Unit was also a part of the effort along with other organisations of Mauritius.

He stressed that the project is proof of the Government’s dedication to serving the entire population. The aim of the administration is to foster a nation where cooperation and progress prevail.

In the same address, the Minister asked the people of Mauritius to work on building a peaceful and prosperous country. He asserted that these aspects are important for the future generations to thrive in.

He further outlined Government initiatives aimed at enhancing the living standards of the population. Some of the steps that can be taken in this regard include increases in the minimum salary and pension.

The Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Jean Christophe Stephan Toussaint also delivered a brief address at the inaugural ceremony. He expressed the vital role of the recreational project in enhancing the quality of life within the locality.

Further, he noted that the project aims to improve living conditions for residents. He urged inhabitants to engage in daily physical exercises and activities for maintaining good health, assuring the presence of appropriate infrastructure to support these endeavours.

The Minister of Sports and Recreation claimed that the government is dedicated to modernising the country for improved lifestyles. Accordingly, he encouraged residents to take full advantage of facilities such as the soccer pitch, outdoor gym, and jogging track.

These facilities are expected to help in prioritising their health and well-being.

The other government officials who were also present at the event included, The Chief Government Whip, Rameswar Doolub; Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS), Teenah Jutton among other officials.
