South Africa: The sister of a 62-year-old pensioner from Maphumulo – KZN has reached out to the Reaction Unit South Africa claiming that her brother has been murdered. The elder has been missing from his home for the last three days and has been impossible to locate.
The family of the unidentified suspects have murdered the pensioner and his body has been disposed off. The family members have further revealed that the victim lives alone in Maphumulo – KZN.
The victim has been identified as Jabulani Gumede and the officers have also shared a picture of the victim for identification. The sister of the missing pensioner came to the Reaction Unit Headquarters to ask the officers to help locate him.
During her visit to the headquarters on Wednesday she informed the officers that her brother lived alone in a rural area. On Sunday, his girlfriend was trying to contact him but he was unreachable.
At this point, the girlfriend asked one of the neighbours to check on him. When the neighbour went into the house to look for the 60-year-old, they discovered some blood and his sleepwear in the yard.
The witness also informed that a window of the house was broken and a rope and blanket from the house were missing. The witness also suggested that the house looked like it had been ransacked.
The people who were trying to contact the missing pensioner reported that the phone rang until Monday. Afterwards, the phone switched off, and the calls were diverted to voicemail. The mobile device has been switched off ever since.
The reaction officers have started an investigation into the matter and reached out to the son of the missing person. The son lives in Cape Town. He has reiterated the family’s belief that the elder has been murdered.
The Missing person received death threats as he pursued a criminal case against a neighbour on theft charges. The Reaction Officers have invited the people of KwaZulu-Natal to supply more information regarding the missing person.
