Legendary footballer Didier Drogba praises the South African League. He said that the South African football League is the best in terms of Infrastructure and receives the best sponsors but there is no Talent in their league.
The African and Ivorian soccer player Drogba mentioned that it is a best league because of good stadiums and finances they receive from PSL (Premier Soccer League).
Didier Drogba further stated that South Africa might be the best league in Africa than Ivory Coast, also considering the regions such as Nigeria, Senegal, Zambia, Mali, Cameroon or Ghana. However, the leagues from these countries produce much better players than South Africa.
Reportedly, it is painful to see the country that have everything and is not being able to produce such great players that can play in la Liga, EPL, Serie A and French Ligue-1.
He expressed his concern that if other countries had the same resources or infrastructure, then South Africa’s league would have been so advanced to even attract more European Clubs to scout their talents.
“But this is life, people who have resources don’t know how to use them and people who have talents don’t have opportunities to access these resources and go far in life,” said Didier Drogba.
Following this a person named Valentine Mlambo enlightened by commenting in the comment section that South African National Teams have achieved far better than the most of the other countries, Drogba mentioned at International Level.
Moreover, Mlambo also said that Zambia and Zimbabwe legs far behind. Ghana, Nigeria and other Francophone countries have produced players for Europe via France for decades, even before South Africa’s readmission in 1992 but South Africa overtook some to be a force and to be reckoned with in the Africa.
Another person named James G Rusakaniko agreed with soccer player, Didier Drogba and said that “100% correct. I recently saw a video showing unnecessary football skils and it was mainly focused on South African players.”
Rusakaniko added further to his statement that, “How can a player kneel down and kiss the ball while the match is played. Reasoning and playing should go hand in hand. At least Sir Drogba noticed folly on South African players and their coaches too.”
