Zambia: The Central Province Education Officer, Mambe Hamududu, has urged all teachers to report to their duty stations before schools open on Monday. The government of Zambia has hired a new team of teachers to fill the vacancies available across the nation.
The new session of the school is beginning and the teachers have to start taking the classes for all the students. The officials have shared that the education officers across the nation are urging the teachersof the nation to take their duties seeriously.
Meanwhile, the officials have shared that it is important for the teachers to be ready for their duties ahead of the official opening of the nation.
Province Education Officer Hamududu says as schools open, learners are expected to have full time lessons. She also confirmed that the the education authorities will not condone teachers staying away from their duty stations without any valid reason.
She said this in a telephone interaction with the media, in Kabwe and stressed that teachers from rural areas must report to their duty stations early to avoid travelling while schools have already opened.
Province Education Officer Hamududu further revealed that all the schools in the province which had a deficit of desks have received the required numbers. The deficit of the desks was met by the nation’s various people of goodwill.
The members of the community have also shared that it is important for the nation to coontinue to meet the infrastructural needs of the people
“Mkushi is one of the districts which had a deficit but as we are talking they have received a number of the required desks and the distribution is ongoing,” she said.
“With the free education policy introduced by the Government, we are experiencing huge numbers of enrollments, hence the need for more classroom blocks and supply of desks,” Mrs Hamududu added.
