Botswana: The First Lady of Botswana Neo Jane Masisi has donated fifteen thousand, six hundred (15,600) story books and three thousand (3,000) stationery packs. The donation was made for the Ministry of Education and Skills Development.
The First Lady of the country has shared that the members of the community will be able to access better educational facilities. The school management has shared that they are delighted with the First Lady’s support to the people.
The officials have shared that the members of the community will also be able to send their children to school with the support of the government. The First Lady of Botswana has shared that the donation was made over the previous weekend.
The officials from the ministry have also shared some images from the event on their social media.
The officials have shared that the schools within the nation will significantly benefit from the donation. The donation will help in providing the students access to the facilities they need to work towards a bettr, brighter future.
The officials have shared that it is the responsibility of all the leaders to make sure that the education sector has all the support that they need. The First Lady of Botswana, Neo Jane Masisi is also the Ambassador of “Merck Foundation More than a Mother campaign”,
First Lady Masisi donated the stationary and books et al at Morula Primary School, a newly opened school in Block 6, Gaborone. The donations were a gift from the Merck foundation as part of their mandate to improve educational outcomes.
The donation will also help and livelihoods of students and further support the sustainable Development Goal 4, which talks about quality and inclusive education.
When giving a keynote address, Mrs. Masisi firmly instructed learners to refrain from vandalizing the school infrastructure in order to maintain its good condition.
For her part, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development ,Ms Elizabeth Bonolo Khumotaka expressed her utmost gratitude to the First Lady for the donations and renowned her as an important stakeholder towards the education system of Botswana.
