Cape Town has launched something new and seriously cool. Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Growth and Tourism – Alderman James Vos has unveiled the ‘Hang On, Pick Cape Town’ campaign; which is a fun and fresh initiative that will use custom-designed door hangers.
The designed door hangers were the kind that people usually see with ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign in hotels. James Vos highlighted that in Cape Town they don’t want you to stay in – they want people to get out, explore, and enjoy! That’s what exactly sparked the idea.
While staying in a hotel Alderman Vos saw the usual Do Not Disturb sign and a thought strike that, What if they turn it into an invitation to experience Cape Town’s tourism and investment opportunities?
And that’s how this concept was born. James Vos said that he is thrilled and excited that their brilliant Place Marketing team has actually brought it to life.

Describing more about the decorative, each door hanger features QR codes that link directly to the ‘This is Cape Town’ and ‘Invest Cape Town’ platforms. The Cape Town Place Marketing team of James Vos is offering guests and potential investors instant access to everything that they need to know about the vibrant economy of the city and the must-see experiences.
Furthermore, with the help of Fedhasa, James Vos confirmed that they will distribute these door hangers in hotels and accommodation venues citywide by turning an everyday item into a smart and stylish call-to-action campaign to attract tourism.
Vos emphasized that the launch of these door hangers is one of the many ways they are working towards driving demand for local products, services and experiences. Excitedly, he exclaimed that he is eagerly waiting to see its impact and how the people of Cape Town will react to this and accept this as a major change in the city and stated, “I can’t wait to see the impact.”
