Dominica celebrates another air access milestone as Caribbean Airlines introduces new flights from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The inaugural flights were welcomed with a traditional Water Cannon Salute.
The new route will operate flights thrice a week i.e. on every Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. The flights launched allows travelers from the US and beyond to connect to Dominica conveniently without clearing immigration twice.
Reportedly, this expanded air connectivity strengthens Dominica as a more accessible and tourism-friendly destination. This partnership with airlines such as Caribbean Airlines continue to:

It shared the photographs and videos of the inaugural flight and said that they officially welcomed Caribbean Airlines’ inaugural flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Dominica. The nation celebrated the occasion with a traditional Water Cannon Salute.
Furthermore, this new route offers greater convenience for travelers, especially from the United States with connections via San Juan which is now available every Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. There’s no need to clear immigration twice.

Earlier, the Minister of Finance – Irving McIntyre highlighted this while presenting the Budget 2025 in the National Assembly. He said, “Caribbean Airlines will commend service to Dominica from San Juan which will begin next month.” He said that this is strengthening the original and international links of flights connected to Dominica.
According to McIntyre, they will continue to implement the aggressive route development strategy to secure airline commitments ahead of the commissioning of the international airport.
Notably, this enhanced airport infrastructure and new airline routes are taking Dominica to new heights. With this improved connectivity and direct flights from key hubs, the island is set to welcome more visitors and unlock major tourism potential ahead of the new international airport.
