Dominica Olympic Committee (DOC) gathered all the executive members on Monday, Sept 08, 2025. During the session, President Billy Doctrove officially sworn in as new Executive for the third term.
Doctrove was re-elected in July 2025. He used the occasion to underline the core mission of the committee to serve the best interests of sport and athletes in Dominica. He addressed the executive during the oath-taking ceremony and stressed upon the importance of selfless service.
At the session, Billy Doctrove said that it is an opportunity for him to congratulate the people who were elected as Executive. He emphasised that he would like to remind them, that they are not here to serve themselves or to promote the association.
The new executive said that the work of the Committee must be athlete-centered that adds up to their demand nothing less than total and selfless commitment. The 2025-29 term of Executives include the members:
- President – Billy Doctrove
- Vice President – Donnie Robinson
- Treasurer – Dexter Deucray
- Assistant Secretary/Treasurer – Korlita Hamilton
- General Secretary – Fenella Wenham-Shephard
- Committee Members – Chester Letang, Peter Letang and Job Joseph
- Athletes’ Representatives – Brendan Williams
In addition to this, Billy Doctrove also confirmed that preparations for LA 2028 Summer Olympics are already underway. He announced that six athletes will receive Olympic scholarships. This aid will support their training and will help them in developing as an athlete.
Doctrove stated that Olympic Games preparations is not an easy or cheap task. They are happy that they have provided the scholarships to the six athletes. They had intensive discussions on it with them.
They know what their expectations are, and they will be in a better place, especially in financial terms. They ensured that they could improve and increase their preparation for Olympics 2028 in Los Angeles.
Furthermore, swimmer jasmine Schofield has also earned the Olympic scholarships. She has secured a full swimming scholarship. Executive Billy Doctrove also extended their gratitude to the Dominica Amateur Swimming Association for its role in facilitating the opportunity.
