My Cape Town Market is back. Considering this event, the City of Cape Town encouraged Capetonians and visitors to make their way to the market in Scottsdene, to be observed for two consecutive days i.e. on Saturday, February 14, 2026 and Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Joseph Avenue Park, organised on the corner of Joseph Avenue and Buiten Crescent.
It is an annual event. My Cape Town Market aims to celebrate community, culture and creativity that offers a dynamic platform for local entrepreneurs to showcase their talent and products.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Economic Growth and Tourism – Alderman James Vos stated that the City of Cape Town is excited to bring My Cape Town Market to Scottsdene.
Surprisingly, these markets are so much fun and enriching events that bring communities together. Also, such markets open up important economic opportunities for local entrepreneurs and traders, working towards progress and development of the nation and its people.
Noting the occurrence of this grand annual event, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Urban Waste Management – Alderman Grant Twigg as the ward Councillor for Ward-7 said that the residents would head out to the market.
Twigg further stated that My Cape Town Market is coming to Scottsdene for the first time which is a wonderful opportunity for the local entrepreneurs and residents to come together. This showcases the creativity and support for local businesses. Also, they hope that this turns out to be something that they can build on for the future.
City of Cape Town has always been lighting up the night sky with its Summer Market, as a festive celebration of all things local and awesome, for its people. It was originally launched as a way to bring the community together.
Since then, the market has become a beloved tradition, that took over the historic heart of the city each year. It displays the sample local cuisine and shop for locally-made goods, from street-side stalls along with a wellness zone, to textile treasures, including the exciting entertainment and a kid’s zone, it’s the perfect way to discover the best of Cape Town.
