South Africa: A man who was believed to be in his thirties was bludgeoned to death with a discarded television. The attack happened in the morning hours of Sunday in Hazelmere – KZN.
The weapon of attack, the discarded Television had been lying along the road where the incident happened. The victim, who was found dead on an unpaved path in the community, was attacked by an unknown number of suspects.
Some residents of the Hazelmere Community discovered the body of the victim on the unpaved footpath at approximately 7:14 hours. The people then contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre.
After the call was received, a team of officers was dispatched from the operations center. On arrival, they were directed to the scene where the man was located lying in a prone position. The reaction officers examined the body of the deceased victim.
He had sustained blunt force trauma to his head and multiple lacerations to his face which led to his death. Furthermore, the reaction officers also discovered the broken blood stained glass from a discarded TV.
The glass was found on his face and around his body, suggesting that the suspect(s) may have struggled with the victim while attacking him. According to residents, the TV had been lying along the footpath for several months.
The reaction officers shared that they have started the investigation into the incident. According to the members of the public, the deceased victim was identified as a resident of Hazelmere – KZN.
He was seen in the evening hours of Saturday at a local tavern. The motive for the murder has not been established by the members of the Reaction Unit.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the incident has started and they have interviewed some of the members of the community. The people on Social media have also come forward to offer their two cents to the investigation.
They were shocked to see a TV being used as a murder weapon. While some of the social media users found the situation funny, the other members extended their condolences on the death of the victim.
