Zimbabwe: A woman went viral on social media for accusing Adel Company of selling and supplying sewage water to the public and hence been accused and a defamation case has been filed against her.
The lady is identified as Sandra Mazvita Pamberi aged 46 who has recently recorded a live video on Facebook at a nearby area in Greystone Park, where a bowser truck branded Adel Contracting was parked and drawing water from a stream.
As per the sources, she started the video with a confrontation with the driver of the vehicle for accusing him and the company of selling sewage water to high-market areas such as Borrowdale.
In the recorded viral video, it can be clearly seen that the driver is trying to explain that it was not the drinking water but the lady Pamberi insisted that the water which the driver was drawing, was for drinking purposes.
Following the defamation case, lady Sandra Pamberi appeared in front of the court and before the Harare magistrate Appollonia Marutya as she was charged with transmission of a false data message intending to cause harm and spread hatred against the Adel Company.
Reportedly, Pamberi was ordered to pay a US $100 bail fine and was also asked to surrender her passport. The case is remanded to be heard again on Friday, Jan 26, 2024.
As per the official and legal state represented by Rufaro Chonzi the allegations are that on Monday, Jan 15, 2024 at Gatspan Road, Off Drew Road, Greystone Park, Sandra Mazvita Pamberi recorded a video using her cellphone and stated that people should not buy water from Adel Company because they were pumping sewage water to sell in the market.
Sandra posted the defamatory video on various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. Moreover, by posting false data, Pamberi wanted the Adel Company to lose its clients, thereby prejudicing the company financially.
