Zambia: A youth-led initiative, Agape Love Charity Donations, has extended a helping hand to the Isoka District Hospital. The Non-Government organization has been working for the welfare of the vulnerable population of the district.
The members of the organization have been working for the community. The group that made the New Year donation to the Isoka District Hospital consisted of more than seven dedicated young individuals.
They generously donated essential items to children in the ward and mothers in the maternity ward.
Group Chairperson Semiya Sichone was responsible for heading the cause. At the hospital, he emphasized that the donation aligns with their vision to support and uplift those in need.
Sichone mentioned that the gesture, costing over 1000, aimed at bringing joy to children and mothers during the New Year celebration period.
“We are more than seven youths who contributed, driven by the shared goal of spreading love to those in the hospital,” stated Sichone.
Sichone further appealed for support from well-wishers to come on board.
“Our appeal to any well-wisher is to support us with funds or donations so that we can extend our assistance to others,” she appealed.
Bartholomew Chota, a group member, emphasized the need for youth empowerment and mutual support.
“We are blessed in different ways and suffer in different ways; hence, we need to share what we have. This is why we are calling ourselves Agape Love Charity Donations,” Chota declared.
Meanwhile, Lenganji Sichone, another member, urged well-wishers to join hands and support the group’s goal of providing assistance to young individuals unable to afford tertiary education.
Pauline Bwalya, a mother of a boy receiving treatment at the hospital, expressed gratitude to the team for the gesture.
“When you are here, even affording soap becomes a challenge. This gesture will go a long way,” she said.
Nakamba another mother at the Maternity ward could not hide her joy at receiving baby hampers after giving birth.
“I am very happy to receive double gifts, my baby and this gift,” she applauded.
