Malawi: Lilongwe City Center Area Councilor Alfred Jiya has appreciated the president of Malawi, Dr Lazarus Chakwera. He said the people of the country should be hopeful. He asserted that the Chakwera led government is working towards developmental avenues and plans that will benefit all people in the country.

Councilor Jiya said this to the people of Senti when he and the people of the area visited the Senti-Chenichenimchiti road. The road was tarred a few years ago and rehabilitation work was done on the site. Meanwhile, the people of the area state that construction and rehabilitation are only history.

The road reconstruction and rehabilitation is important for the continued safety and security of the people. The road is currently in a deplorable situation and may become the reason for traffic accidents. The lives of the people using the road may come under constant danger due to the construction situation of the road.

The Councilor Jiyo has expressed his confidence in the capabilities of the government of Malawi. The people of the country have also asked the government to take notice of the situation at the Senti – Chenichenimchiti road.

The road connects many remote areas and is important for people living in surrounding areas such as Area 50 and Area 25.

In this regard, Councilor, Alfred Jiya said “When the government of Dr Lazarus Chakwera does development, it is determined not to do things like we are moving out of the country.”

“The Malawi Congress Party recognizes that this is our country, so we do development so that our children, grandchildren and others will eat in the future.” The security of the people’s present and future is a priority for the government.

At the time, the councilor acknowledged what happened with this road which is not helping at all. But, he assured the people that they would fix this as soon as the rainy season ends.
