Cape Town the port city of South Africa has been considered among the top most 20 beautiful cities of the world by Architectural Digest, also known as ‘AD’.
The beautiful Cape Town claimed the spot in the popular American publication, founded in 1920 and mostly covers the writings on interior designing and landscaping, rather than pure external architecture.
The publication claimed that, though the 20 cities were very few too sum up with all the world’s beauty as they took a stab at highlighting some supremely spectacular places.

To meet with the purpose of the list Architectural Digest considered a few factors such as the architecture of the city, cultural treasures, historical relevance as well as the natural appeal in order to be named as ‘BEAUTIFUL’.
The designing publication placed the city at no.14 and wrote a note in its praise, “Brilliant blue waters, buzzing nightlife, an ever-emerging arts scene and the majestic Table Mountain make Cape Town a stunning city no matter your definition of beauty. For both nature lovers and thrill seekers, getting a closer look at the city’s main mountain never disappoints.”
“Table Mountain National Park has a cable car that offers panoramic views of the city, plus whale-watching from Cape Point and the chance to peep penguins at Boulders Beach,” mentioned AD.

According to Architectural Digest the top-20 most beautiful cities in the world that made to the list are:

Architectural Digest considered some criteria to rank these cities among the most beautiful, and explained those in the section of ‘What makes a city beautiful?’
Under this they described that, while there are endless ways to answer this question, for the purpose of this list, in which they considered architecture, cultural treasures historical relevance, as well as natural appeal.

As per AD, the best cities offer something that can’t be found anywhere else. Destinations from all over the globe made the list, some for possessing all of the above in a single place.
They also included a separate part of ‘What is the most beautiful city in the US, Europe and Asia?’ in which they considered the cities and beautiful places people visit in these continents.
In a special section, ‘Which cities are the most naturally beautiful?’, AD highlighted Portsmouth of Caribbean country Dominica, that dazzles with its beaches, coral reefs and mangroves.
These naturally beautiful cities also stand out for efforts made to protect its natural beauty. Roughly, 10,000 miles away in Australia, Adelaide also has beaches and an optimal climate for vineyards and plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife.
