Nigeria: The Executive Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Onengiyeofori George, assured Oproama Community he will provide them with a robust and quality health program. The programme in question is that it will greatly impact the well-being of all members of the Community.
The health programme is a part of the executive chairman’s commitment to ensuring good health for the people of the community. Onengiyeofori George made the remarks when he visited the site of the ongoing reconstruction of the hitherto moribund and dilapidated Oproama Health Centre.
The chairperson has been dedicated to the constant development and wellbeing of the Local Government Area. During the visit, Chairman George was accompanied by his cabinet, political appointees and some directors of the council.
He hoped that “This state-of-the-art facility will greatly help in tackling emerging health burdens and achieve the Universal Health Coverage of all persons, particularly in Oproama community.”
The Medical Officer of Health in the LGA, Dr Kina Christian, also shared some remarks at the site of the construction project. He said, “This deliberate intervention and investment in primary healthcare facility in Oproama by the Executive Chairman will greatly enhance healthcare service delivery in the community and improve the overall performance of the health sector significantly, being the best in the LGA”.
Director of Budget and Planning, Dr Okorinama Jacob expressed his happiness at the radiance and sheer magnificence of the architectural masterpiece. He appreciated the Executive Chairman for delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
He also added that “this remodeled primary health centre can be converted to a Cottage Hospital”.
The Supervisor for Health, Dr Ipalibo George, said, “The Oproama Health Center is a primary health facility with a modern outlook to meet the immediate health and medical needs of the people within and around the community.”
The Supervisor for Works, Sir Dedibi Olu-Princewill expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman for the thought of this project. He said that the facility is designed to have over 20 bed spaces both in private and general wards as Staff comfort is also taken into consideration.
He added that the administration of Onengiyeofori George has been proactive and working hard to improve the well-being of the people of the LGA through various intervention programmes and projects.
