Nigeria: The National Union of Asalga Students (NUAS) conducted the elections to select a new administration. The elections aim to get a group of leaders who can work for the welfare of the students who hail from Asari-Toru LGA.
The authorities claimed that the officials have shared that the election was hosted in line with democratic tenets and principles. The new administration was given the responsibility to handle and manage the affairs of the union for the next one year.
The new administration will be in power for one year, after which the elections will be hosted again and the reigns will be handed over the Union successors.
The election for the National Union of Asalga Students was conducted in Buguma City. All the institutions involved in the process, including the electorates and aspirants cooperated as delegates. The laws and dictates of the Electoral commission were followed while the youngsters voted in their preferred candidates.
The election commission, who are responsible for conducting the election for the National Union of Asalga Students called the election process as free and fair.
The names of the winners of the various positions in the executive council are listed as follows:
- President: Vincent Godswill Godknows
- Vice President: Jackson Isaac Tamuno
- Secretary: Grace Francis
- Treasurer: Better Braide
- Financial Secretary: Flourish Horsfall
- Public Relations Officer: Ibinabo Martins
- Director of Socials: Wisdom Godwin
- Assistant Secretary: Lilian Tyger
- Director of Welfare: Favour Kingsmate
- Provost: Innocent Daniel
The inauguration of the newly elected Executives of the National Union of Asalga Students, was done after the votes were counted in. The Executive Assistant on Students Affairs, Biokpo William-West inaugurated the newly instated leadership.
Further, the Executive Assistant on Students Affairs called on the leadership of the Union to be ambassadors of peace in the LGA.
The youngsters of the country were happy with the success of the election process. They hoped that the new administration will advocate for the interests of the student population.
