Zambia: Magoye’s Mulilo Culture Group Leader, Base Malambo, has called on youths to develop innovative ways to make money rather than depend on begging. He has encouraged the youngsters of the country to work on becoming productive citizens.
The youngsters of the country who are unemployed can be seen engaging in several illegal and dangerous activities. These activities can be detrimental to the youngsters as some youngsters can be seen engaging in substance and alcohol abuse.
The members of the community are encouraging the young minds of the country to make sure that they are engaged in productive activities. They were urged to contribute to their familial and national well being through their trades and businesses.
Mulilo Culture Group Leader Base Malambo has been playing an important role in protecting the youngsters. He has created a dancing group to help the youths in the area to be occupied so that they do not engage in illicit activities like substance abuse.
He notes that he created the group from the money he raised when he was working as a drummer for another group in 2010. The officials have shared their appreciation for the action of the young individual.
Malambo adds that rather than just benefiting the youths, the group also keeps the community entertained during practice sessions.
He further revealed that the group’s fame has grown to a point where they perform at weddings, parties and funerals in other parts of the Country other than Mazabuka.
Malambo has since called on well-wishers to help the club with outfits and other necessities so that they could recruit more members.
Meanwhile, a Senior Citizen, Saints Mangolo, from the area has applauded the initiative as he says it is a way to remind people of tradition.
Speaking while watching the group practice, Mangolo advised the team to consider applying for Constituency Development Fund – CDF loans.
