Bentiu: Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang on Friday convened in State General Secretariate, the Regular Council of Ministers meeting No.01.2023 AD to brief the Council on the 6th Governors ‘Forum.
Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang briefed the Council of Ministers on the Resolutions and Recommendations of the 6th Governors ‘Forum and the Road-Map 2022, where he directed the Ministers to highlight core tasks related to each Ministry concern stipulated in the 6th Governors ‘Forum Resolutions and Recommendations.
Governor also directed the State Minister of General Education and Instructions to prepare the budget for the organization of Teacher Day in Bentiu IDPs camp. Manytuil added that the Teacher Day would be organized in recognition of the effort of our teachers who have sacrificed themselves to educate our children for the last eight years of Volunteering.
He declared that the year 2023 would be zero volunteer Teachers, and the State government must perhaps recruit volunteer teachers in the Bentiu IDPs camp to promote free education for all in our State. The Governor also declared that the year 2023 would be a year of peace and reconciliation among the people of Unity State with its neighbours.
On the issue of Clearing the Nam River, the Governor said the clearing of Nam River would commence right after the arrival of machines from Juba.
H.E Governor Dr Joseph Manytuil Wejang further calls on the Council to work for peaceful coexistence between the people of Unity State and Ruweng Administrative Area; as such am directing the relevant security institution and Counties Administration Bordering Ruweng Administrative Area to gear up building sustainable peace and socio-economic cooperation and ties with Ruweng Administrative Area.
The people of Unity State and Ruweng Administrative Area are people in different administrations, and that included the resources we shared equally.
The Council also received a briefing from the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for the Graduation of Necessary Unified Force and Minister of Peace Building, Madut Rueh, on the Evaluation of the graduation of unified Forces on 14th January 2023.
