South Africa: Free State Department of Health has launched a number of facilities for the people at the Botshabelo District Hospital. The Department has launched a Colposcopy machine, opened an eye clinic, reopened opened a laundry facility at the hospital.
Further, they have also handed over wheelchairs and school shoes to the people in need of support. The Department of Health is focusing on gradually getting various key elements to function at their best capacity. This will ensure that the various elements can come together and work towards improving and developing he healthcare sector.
The donations were made by various organizations to the Botshabelo District Hospital. The Department launched a new colposcopy machine in the hospital. The machine has been donated to the hospital by Black Woman Arise Women’s Health Foundation and Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation.
This state-of-the-art equipment will help in improving thee Botshabelo District Hospital’s ability to provide essential healthcare services, The donation will help the people of the country get access to better prospects for women’s health.
Colposcopy is a vital diagnostic procedure used to closely examine the cervix, vagina, and vulva for signs of disease. The launch of this advanced colposcopy machine will offer numerous benefits to this community.
The department has also opened Thabo Community Trust sponsored eye clinic on Saturday in the presence of several community members. The opening of the eye clinic will address the needs of the people of the community.
Many members of the community have been waiting for the beginning of eye service facility in the community. MEC for health in Free State with HOD for the department of health and Senior Management attended the launch event for the various facilities.
The department officials also oversaw the re-opening of a laundry facility in the Botshabelo District Hospital. Further, organizations of public welfare provided the school donations for wheelchairs and school shoes. Thabo Community Action Trust was responsible for the donations of the medical equipment.
The donations from the trust have helped in making the programme that make this hospital to be the hope of the aspirations of this community.
