The Drug Enforcement agency is hosting the event under the theme: Together Re Mmogo” at the Gaborone West Youth Grounds (Mma Masire Grounds). The organizers have invited the people of Botswana to come together and participate in the educational event.
The organizers have shared that the event will include a 10 KM March, aiming to sensitize the people on the adverse effects of drug use. The march will start early on Thursday Morning at 6:00 Hours.
The Gaborone West Youth Grounds will serve as the venue for the 10 Kilometre March. The event will be open to all the attendants, including children for free.
The organizers have arranged for Live Music to be played at the Carnival Venue. The musicians will also play kids music to keep them entertained.
The event is being supported by the Good Deeds Trust, The Captive Eye Organization, The Children Arts Trust and other organizations. The organizers host this event every year with the aim of protecting the youngsters of Botswana.
The Drug Free Carnival was especially important in light of the upcoming festivals.
Christmas and New Year’s Eve are some of the most prominent celebrations where the people can indulge in recreational drugs. These drugs can lead to addiction and weakened immune systems, leading to infections and eventual death.
It is the responsibility of the Drug Enforcement Agency to make sure that the young and impressionable minds of Botswana are not exposed to anything inappropriate. Accordingly, the REA has taken up the responsibility of educating them.
The People of Botswana have appreciated the Drug Enforcement Organization for their commitment to the wellbeing of the people.
