Botswana: The Ministry of Trade and Industry in Botswana has organized and event to commemorate breast cancer awareness month. The acting Deputy Permanent Secretary has reflected on collective action on breast cancer.
The officials have shared that the members of the community should be supportive of the victims who have been fighting with the disease. Botswana Ministry of Trade and Industry has shared that it is important for the members of the community to be aware about the preventive measures of Breast Cancer.
The theme of the event hosted for the MTI staff was “know your breasts”. The message that was propagated during the event was aimed at promoting self examination through looking, touching and examining.
The programme has been aimed at ensuring that more and more people can start their treatment at a reasonable time. This will increase the victim’s chances of a complete recovery.
The event was also attended by a breast cancer survivor who delivered a brief address at the event. Beatrice Boipuso Morobane shared some insights and her experience at the breast cancer awareness event.
The programme is aimed at promoting a sense of community for the survivors as well as the fighters.
The Ministry wants to tell the women that they are not alone in facing the challenge of breast cancer. The breast cancer survivor said that “Life after cancer is vibrant and fulfilling.
She urged the women to have regular screenings for breast cancer markers so that they can save their lidr through early detection.
The staff members of the MTI benefited tremendously from the event as they learnt about the disease. The Ministry has enlisted the help of experts who educated the attendants about the disease.
The youngsters were enlightened on the importance of self examination and timely intervention. The month of October is dedicated to increasing education and awareness about cancer.
During the whole month, several nations across the globe offer support and education, not only to the victims but also the community. The Minstry confirmed that the Breast Cancer Awareness Month is highly crucial time for the nation.
During the month long commemorations, healthcare organizations offer discounted and/or free screenings to the people. The international event seeks to reduce the mortality rate associated with Breast Cancer.
