Botswana Ntungamili Raguin set to compete at International Junior Tennis Tournament

Botswana: Botswana's top ranked under 14 boys player, Ntungamili Raguin, will be competing in the international qualifiers of the most prestigious 14 and under tournament in the world, Les Petit As. Considered the U14 Junior World Championships, the tournament attracts every year the best young tennis players in the world.

Botswana: Botswana’s top ranked under 14 boys player, Ntungamili Raguin, will be competing in the international qualifiers of the most prestigious 14 and under tournament in the world, Les Petit As. Considered the U14 Junior World Championships, the tournament attracts every year the best young tennis players in the world.

To qualify for the International qualifiers, Ntungamili competed and won a pre-qualifying tournament in Gap, France, earlier in the year. The international qualifiers hosted in Tarbes, France, will run from 22nd to 29th January 2023, with the Main Draw of the tournament scheduled for 23rd to 29th January 2023.

Since its creation in 1982 and the first edition in 1983, the tournament has welcomed the greatest champions of the tennis world, such as: Michael Chang, Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Justine Henin, Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis.

Botswana Tennis Association (BTA) wishes Ntungamili the heartiest congratulations and good luck as he takes on the best in the world.

Ntungamili Raguin has qualified for the main draw of the Les Petit As. The Les Petit As is considered as the Under 14 Junior World Championships and attracts the best young tennis players in the world.

In order to qualify for the main draw, Ntungamili competed and won a pre-qualifying tournament in Gap, France, earlier in the year.

He then competed in the international qualifiers hosted in Tarbes, France, where he won his first match against Charlie Riley of Ireland six-three, three-six, ten-eight in a bid to progress to the next round. He then defeated Baron Mattia of ITALY six-one, two-six, ten-six to qualify for the main draw of the tournament.

The Main draw of the tournament is scheduled for 23rd to 29th January 2023.

Residents of Botswana also sent their wishes to Ntungamili and also said that “keep grinding yourself, and give your best to put Africa on the map.”
